Omnicoder’s second map starts well and finishes… strangely. Lighting problems plague a map that goes on for too long and makes very little sense as you burn your toes and strain your eyes to stay focused.

This map is indeed, way too dark. But it does look like it has some good potential. Good work as usual making a review.
Hello. I’m not sure how much time I’ll be able to invest in helping with a project (some details would be nice) as I am working feverently to finish a map for the MyApertureLabs UCC, but if you want to contact me you can email subject.johnson@gmail.com. Thanks!
Yeah, its very dark. There is possible solution of the “collapsed bridghe part” there is portable surface next to the second part of the bridge, so you can put portal there, then behind you, jump down and jump on the bridge. It’s kinda tricky.
But I got stuck in the room with the portable surface above the light, i did the same as you and I wasnt able to reach the platform…
I liked what you said about mapper’s not making puzzles anymore. I guess I can understand the obsession with wanting to marry HL2 and Portal but…jesus, if some mapper’s can get back to creating an actual test chamber and forget about storytelling/flings/physics objects, I personally would stop inspecting maps and looking for tests and just play. And more important, I would probably not come here and look at a review first, before even trying the map in the first place.
wait a minute… at 9:30, where your portal energy shots skimming off of a surface? I swear I can see them arcing or ricocheting
That was… interesting. The lighting was so nice in the beginning, then it suddenly becomes pitch-black. And you’re right, those flames ARE way too high.
