Until the form is up we have decided to use this blog post to recognise the maps and content you want to see on The Cake Is A Pie in the coming weeks and months. We’re very willing to venture outside Portal and outside reviews if the community want us to to review games, maps and custom content from other areas of the web. Additionally, if there are any features you’d like to see on the site we’re very open to suggestions.
So without further ado please comment on this post with the kind content you would like to see on CiP in the near future. Please include a link and reasoning where possible. We always love hearing from you.

About Us
Hi there. I recently made a map for Portal and I’d love to see it featured here on thecakeisapie. As it is my first portal map, I’d love to see it recognized. When making it, I focused on a lot of things mappers don’t usually focus on. It’s a mid size map that is directed toward mid-range portal players. I’ve seen a lot of custom portal maps, and they all have been ridiculously overwhelming. With that in mind, I created a 3 puzzle chamber. The map requires techniques taught in portal and doesn’t introduce any twitch mechanics. Another focus of mine was to create a non-annoying map. How many maps have you played that features the same GLaDOS lines over and over? Probably all of them. There are no such dialogue here and the map focuses more on environmental training. I also designed the map to look as if it were part of the actual Aperture Science labs. No ridiculous custom models or textures. Despite this, I believe every mapper should have their own unique imprint in their map. The map does however contain one new mechanic that uses the “box balls.” The map itself takes between 15-20 mins on average. In lieu of the success the map has had at http://www.myApertureLabs.com, I’ve decided to make another map that follows this. As such, I’d love to see the current map featured in a video review. The input and dedication you guys put into enhancing a mapper through criticism and example are unparalleled by any other site. Hopefully I can see the same for mine.

Thanks for your time! Dave (Omega_Absolute)
Good idea, I’ll try and categorise them when I get a free moment. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have an idea for the site. Bear with me…
Maybe you could have some sections (kinda like sub-forums), with Godawful Maps, Bad Maps, Average Maps, Excellent Maps, where you post the videos. Also, the names aren’t arbitrary at all
Sorry for double post
One of the few credible Portal mods out there, Aperture: Deja Vu, could use with a good reviewing (although it’s nonlinear, so it may be quite difficult)

Also, the Anyxius chambers have been quite challenging/fun in the past, so maybe they could be done pretty please

I will definitely look into both of these, though obviously the mod will take much longer to do, as it will require some serious editing rather than just a play-through and audio mix.
Cool
And did you use my initial request, or was it in use already and I was too dumb to notice?
We just put it together as part of your request – enjoy
